Episode 5: I’m Leaving On A Jet Plane
Psalm 78:4–7 We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about his power and his mighty wonders. For he issued his laws to Jacob; he gave his instructions to Israel. He commanded our ancestors to teach them to their children, so the next generation might know them—even the children not yet born—and they in turn will teach their own children. So each generation should set its hope anew on God, not forgetting his glorious miracles and obeying his commands.
Proverbs 13:22 Good people leave an inheritance to their grandchildren…
The Inheritance We Must Leave:

1 Corinthians 3:8-9 (NIV) The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.
We must leave them with evidence of God’s greatness .
Psalm 9:1 I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.Deuteronomy 6:11–12 …When you have eaten your fill in this land, be careful not to forget the Lord, who rescued you from slavery in the land of Egypt.
We must leave them with a blessing to celebrate .
Psalm 1:1–3 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. We must leave them with a hope to believe in .
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

The Key: Partnership
- A common goal defines a partnership.

1 Corinthians 3:8-9 (NIV) The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.
-
Partnership produces joy .

Philippians 2:1-2 Therefore, if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.
-
Partnership fosters spiritual growth .
Philippians 1:9-11 (NLT) I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ for this will bring much glory and praise to God.
Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV) And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
Assume God’s direction is best .
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
