Episode 4: Come Together
Judges 2:7&10 And the Israelites served the Lord throughout the lifetime of Joshua and the leaders who outlived him—those who had seen all the great things the Lord had done for Israel… …After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the Lord or remember the mighty things he had done for Israel.
The Key: Partnership
- A common goal defines a partnership.
Philippians 1:3-5 (NLT) Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now
1 Corinthians 3:8-9 (NIV) The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.
-
Partnership produces joy .
Philippians 1:3-4 (NLT) Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy
Philippians 2:1-2 Therefore, if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.
-
Partnership fosters spiritual growth .
Philippians 1:9-11 (NLT) I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ for this will bring much glory and praise to God.
Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV) And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
